3216 ET315-2 Epoxy Bonding Layer
Product Description
Product Introduction
3216 is a two-component epoxy primer cured with phenolic amine, designed for applications that require extended recoat intervals. This product also exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and water resistance.
Application areas
It is used in atmospheric and immersion environments as a transitional coating between epoxy paints and physically dried coatings to achieve excellent intercoat adhesion. It can also serve as an anti-corrosion primer for underwater coating systems, a bonding coat for antifouling paints, or a sealing coat for aged‑finish antifouling paints.

Construction conditions
Intermediate coat: Remove all rust and other loose contaminants by sandblasting or power‑tool cleaning, then sweep away any remaining debris. Apply additional coats to achieve the specified total dry film thickness.
Sealing coat for aged antifouling paint: Thoroughly clean or blast with high-pressure fresh water to remove the hydrolyzed layer on the surface of the old antifouling paint, ensuring that any weakly adherent old coating is completely removed.
The substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point, and the ambient relative humidity must be below 85%.
It is recommended to apply the product at temperatures above -10°C, and the application surface must be clean and dry.
Strong ventilation is recommended during construction and the drying/curing process.

Paint film thickness
Non‑recommended dry film thicknesses may be used depending on the application and substrate; this will alter the coverage rate and affect drying time and recoat intervals. The standard dry film thickness per coat is 50–125 microns.
