Product Description
Product Introduction
1816 is a two-component amine-cured epoxy zinc‑rich coating; the zinc powder it contains provides excellent cathodic protection for steel. This product dries rapidly and exhibits outstanding adhesion and impact resistance, making it compatible with most substrates.
Application areas
This product can serve as a general-purpose anti-corrosion primer in severely corrosive environments and is widely used on various steel surfaces.

Construction conditions
Remove oil, grease, and other contaminants by cleaning with an appropriate detergent.
Sandblasting to Sa2.5 grade.
Surface roughness: Medium (G) (ISO 8503-2).
The substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point, and the ambient relative humidity must be below 85%.
Use this product only under conditions where application and curing can proceed normally at temperatures above –10°C; the application surface must be clean and dry.
It is recommended that the temperature during construction not exceed 40°C.

Note: If the maximum recoat interval is exceeded, the surface must be roughened to ensure adhesion between coats, and zinc salts and other contaminants must be removed.
Paint film thickness
The typical dry film thickness for a single coat is 40–100 microns. During application, the coating thickness must be strictly controlled, with the maximum dry film thickness not exceeding 200 µm.
