Product Description

Product Introduction

1230 is a two-component, modified phenolic‑amine cured, general‑purpose pure epoxy anti‑rust coating. It dries rapidly and can be applied and cured at low temperatures, forming a tough, abrasion‑resistant film with excellent corrosion‑protective performance.

Application areas
For atmospheric and immersion service, this is a versatile coating suitable for use as a heavy-duty anti-corrosion paint on ship bottoms, ballast tanks, anchor chain rooms, quay steel piles, offshore oil drilling platforms, hydraulic steel gates, mine‑shaft steel supports, and the inner and outer surfaces of pipelines.

Construction conditions

New steel: sandblasted to Sa2.5 grade, with a surface roughness of Medium (G) (ISO 8503-2).
Steel coated with shop primer: Apply light blast cleaning or grind rusted areas to St3 grade using an elastic abrasive wheel.
Welding, flame cutting, or thermal straightening of burned areas: Remove weld slag and spatter, grind the surface smooth, then use an elastic abrasive wheel to achieve a St3 surface finish.
The substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point, and the ambient relative humidity must be below 85%.
Use this product only under conditions where application and curing can proceed normally at temperatures above –10°C; the application surface must be clean and dry.

Paint film thickness
Non‑recommended film thicknesses may be used depending on the application and area; this will alter the coverage rate and affect drying time and recoat intervals. The standard dry film thickness per coat is 75–200 μm. Ballast tanks: airless spray, 2–4 coats, with a dry film thickness of 300–400 μm. Other areas: airless spray, 2 coats, with a dry film thickness of 200–300 μm.
