Chlorinated EVA
Chlorinated rubber is a chlorinated polymer produced by reacting natural rubber with chlorine gas. The industrial product appears as a white or pale yellow powder, which is non-toxic and odorless. It has a chlorine content of 63–65% and an average relative molecular weight ranging from 5,000 to 10,000. It is readily soluble in organic solvents such as aromatics, halogenated hydrocarbons, ethers, esters, petroleum solvents, and ketones (except acetone). It is miscible with various synthetic resins including alkyd resins, epoxy resins, phenolic resins, and polyurethanes, but is insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, and water.
