Product Introduction

1170 is an anti-rust paint formulated with a synthetic resin base, along with rust‑inhibiting pigments such as zinc phosphate and red iron oxide, plus fillers, additives, and solvents. It offers excellent corrosion protection and dries relatively quickly.

 

Application areas
It is suitable for use as an anti-rust coating on the above-water surfaces of ships and on steel structures on land, and can be used in combination with conventional topcoats such as phenolic and alkyd paints.

Construction conditions

New steel: blast-cleaned to Sa2.5 grade, or ground with an elastic abrasive wheel to St3 grade.

Steel coated with shop primer: Re‑remove rust and repair paint film damage at affected areas by grinding with an elastic abrasive wheel to St3 grade.
Welding, flame cutting, or hot‑working correction of the combustion area: grind to St3 grade using an elastic abrasive wheel.
The substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point, and the ambient relative humidity must be below 85%.
It is recommended to apply the product at temperatures above -10°C, and the application surface must be clean and dry.
During construction and the drying process, vigorous ventilation is recommended.
