Product Description

Product Introduction

7392 is a copper‑free, self‑polishing antifouling paint designed for underwater applications on ship hulls. Its coating delivers outstanding antifouling performance, providing long‑term protection, while its self‑polishing action helps maintain a smooth surface.

Application areas
As a high-solids, self-polishing antifouling paint, it is suitable for substrates requiring controlled polishing and excellent antifouling performance, and can be used on newbuildings as well as during dockside maintenance.

Product Information
Appearance: Red and brown
Solid content by volume: 59±2%
Recommended dry film thickness: 60–125 μm (corresponding to a wet film thickness of 101–211 μm)
Theoretical coverage (100 µm): 4.7–10 m²/L or 2.7–5.6 m²/kg
Specific gravity: 1.7 kg/L
Flash point: above 29°C

Construction conditions

The substrate shall be clean and dry, and the application temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point to prevent condensation.
It is recommended to apply this product under conditions where the relative humidity is below 85%.
This product can be applied in environments as low as -10°C.
Ensure adequate ventilation during the drying process.
During maintenance, any residual self‑polishing or erodible antifouling paint must be removed with an appropriate cleaning agent to eliminate surface oils and other contaminants, followed by a thorough high‑pressure freshwater rinse to remove poorly adherent saponified layers.
During maintenance, whether or not to apply a topcoat depends on the type and condition of the remaining antifouling paint.

Departing the dock
The minimum time to launch depends on the number of coating layers, the thickness of the paint film, the ambient temperature at the time, and the subsequent exposure and service conditions. For further details, please refer to the relevant application guidelines. The maximum time to launch is governed by atmospheric conditions, such as UV radiation, temperature, and the level of air pollution. Under normal atmospheric exposure, six months should pose no issues; however, in cases of severe contamination, high-pressure fresh-water rinsing may be required—please contact our company.

Paint film thickness / Dilution / Other
Non‑recommended dry film thicknesses may be used depending on the application and environmental conditions; this will affect the coverage rate as well as drying time and recoat intervals. The standard dry film thickness is 60–125 microns. Since this product contains cuprous oxide, the coating may discolor upon exposure to seawater—this is a normal phenomenon and does not compromise the coating’s antifouling performance.
