Product Description

Product Introduction

7599 is a high-solids, self-polishing antifouling coating based on ion-exchange technology. It incorporates an advanced biocidal formulation to deliver predictable fouling protection, while its film exhibits excellent mechanical strength.

Application areas
As a high-solids, self-polishing antifouling paint, it is suitable for new-build and maintenance projects that require controlled polishing and excellent antifouling performance on hulls and below-waterline surfaces, with an antifouling efficacy lasting more than 36 months.

Product Information
Appearance: Red and brown
Solid content by volume: 64±2%
Recommended dry film thickness: 100 μm (corresponding to a wet film thickness of 156 μm)
Theoretical coverage (100 µm): 6.4 m²/L or 3.8 m²/kg
Specific gravity: 1.7 kg/L
Flash point: above 23°C
VOC content: 345 g/L

Construction conditions

The substrate shall be clean and dry, and the application temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point to prevent condensation.
It is recommended to apply this product under conditions where the relative humidity is below 85%.
This product can be applied in environments as low as -10°C.
Ensure adequate ventilation during the drying process.
During maintenance, any residual self‑polishing or erodible antifouling paint must be removed with an appropriate cleaning agent to eliminate surface oils and other contaminants, followed by a thorough rinse with high‑pressure fresh water to remove poorly adherent saponified layers.
During maintenance, whether or not to apply a topcoat depends on the type and condition of the remaining antifouling paint.

Recoating interval
Based on the existing hull condition, sailing conditions, and expected service life, refer to the corresponding application guidelines. There is no maximum recoat interval; however, if the coating is exposed for an extended period in a contaminated environment, it must be thoroughly cleaned with high-pressure fresh water. To ensure proper use of our products, please read this instruction manual carefully.

Departing the dock
The minimum time to launch depends on the number of coating layers, the thickness of the paint film, the ambient temperature at the time of application, and the subsequent exposure and service conditions. For further details, please refer to the relevant application guidelines. The maximum time to launch is governed by atmospheric conditions, such as UV radiation, temperature, and the level of air pollution. Under normal atmospheric exposure, a period of up to six months should pose no issues; however, in cases of severe contamination, high-pressure fresh-water rinsing may be required—please contact our company for assistance.

Paint Film Thickness/Dilution
Non‑recommended dry film thicknesses may be used depending on the application and substrate; this will affect the coverage rate as well as drying time and recoat intervals. The standard dry film thickness is 80–175 microns.
