7399 N35-1 Wuxi Self-Polishing Antifouling Paint
Product Description
Product Introduction
7399 is a high-solids, self-polishing antifouling paint. Its resin-based ion-exchange film gradually hydrolyzes in water at a controlled rate and, as it is washed away by the flow of water, produces a self-polishing effect. Meanwhile, the biologically active agents contained in the paint continuously leach out, delivering outstanding antifouling performance.
Application fields
As a high-solids, self-polishing antifouling paint, it is suitable for substrate surfaces requiring controllable polishing and excellent antifouling performance. It can be used for both new ship construction and dry-docking repairs, with an antifouling efficacy lasting up to 36 months.
Product Information
Appearance: Red and brown
Solid content by volume: 64 ± 2%
Recommended dry film thickness: 100 μm (corresponding to a wet film thickness of 156 μm)
Theoretical coverage (100 μm): 6.4 m²/L or 3.8 m²/kg
Specific gravity: 1.7 kg/L
Flash point: Above 24℃
VOC content: 345 g/L
Construction conditions
The substrate should be clean and dry, and the application temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point to prevent condensation.
It is recommended to apply this product under conditions where the humidity is below 85%.
This product can be applied in environments as low as -10℃.
Ensure adequate ventilation during the drying period.
During maintenance, any remaining self-polishing or abrasive antifouling paint must be removed using an appropriate cleaning agent to eliminate surface oils and other contaminants. Then, thoroughly rinse the surface with high-pressure fresh water to remove any loosely adhered saponified layers.
During maintenance, whether or not to use sealing paint depends on the type and condition of the remaining antifouling paint.

Recoating interval
Based on the current condition of the hull, sailing conditions, and expected service life, refer to the corresponding construction guidelines. There is no maximum recoating interval; however, if the painted surface is exposed for an extended period in a polluted environment, it must be thoroughly rinsed clean with high-pressure fresh water. To ensure proper use of our products, please read this instruction manual carefully.
Departing the dock
The shortest time before launching depends on the number of coating layers, the thickness of the paint film, the ambient temperature at the time, and the subsequent exposure/use conditions. For more information, please refer to the corresponding application guidelines. The longest time before launching depends on atmospheric conditions (such as UV radiation, temperature, and the level of atmospheric pollution). Typically, exposure to the atmospheric environment for up to 6 months should pose no issues; however, in cases of severe pollution, high-pressure freshwater rinsing may be necessary—please contact our company for further assistance.
Coating Film Thickness/Dilution
Non-recommended coating film thicknesses may be used depending on the intended application and local conditions; however, this will affect the coating coverage rate as well as drying time and recoat intervals. The standard dry film thickness is 80–175 microns.
Packaging specifications
18 liters or 30.6 kilograms
Shelf life
36 months
