Chlorinated rubber is a chlorinated polymer produced by the reaction of natural rubber with chlorine. The industrial product is a white or pale yellow powder, non‑toxic and odorless, with a chlorine content of 63–65% and an average relative molecular weight of 5,000–10,000. It is readily soluble in aromatics, halogenated hydrocarbons, and ethers.
